Posted in Diet Plans, Diet Plans, dietary antioxidants, raw food, raw vegetables at 8:13 pm by Last

Serious thought should go into selecting food for your daily diet. Diet has a great effect on our health and ageing process. Food can make us healthy, provide vigor and vitality or could make us unhealthy. Lets have a look at some of the benefits of including raw foods in your diet:

  • Helps in normal functioning of the body: Raw food has all the vital ingredients that are essential for maintenance of good health. The nutritive constituents of raw foods provide building material for construction, renewal of cells, produces energy to put these cells into motion and supplies raw materials to the specified cells required for their productive activities. Cooked foods forces body organs to work at about 3-4 times their normal capacity, which in turn brings premature changes in them, thus causing various ailments and shortening of their life span.People who eat more of raw food uses their digestive organs at about 1/4 of their potential capacity. Thus their organs are never overloaded or fatigued.
  • Balancing body chemistry: The normal body chemistry contains 20% acid and 80% alkaline. To maintain acid and alkaline balance one should take 20 acid and 80% alkaline forming foods. Fresh raw uncooked fruits and raw vegetables are rich in mineral salts, which are vital for neutralizing acid waste products. Once these foods are cooked, large part of their mineral content is lost. Thus raw food, also known as purifying foods in Ayurvedic terms, possesses eliminating, cleansing and healing properties.
  • Antioxidants effects: The most important effect of raw foods on one’s health is its healing and preventive powers as disease fighting dietary antioxidants. Raw foods especially deep colored foods have strong antioxidants. The antioxidants contained in these foods are infused into the tissues and fluids where they help resist oxidant invasion. The dietary antioxidants thus prevents damaging effects of oxidants on health.
  • Curative powers: Natural foods have unlimited powers to sustain health and restore it when lost. Degeneration of food happens due to refining and cooking which is one of the primary cause of today’s increase in variety and frequency of diseases.

Dr. Kristine Nolfi of Denmark proved that it is possible to heal even cancer with raw food diet. She recovered from cancer after treating herself with exclusive raw food diet. She even opened Humlegaarden, a institute where she treated patients suffering from cancer and other diseases with exclusive diet of raw foods.

Dr. Joseph Evers of Germany proved it too that raw foods could heal diseases like multiple sclerosis. He treated thousands of patients with multiple sclerosis with diets primarily containing raw vegetables, raw fruits, raw nuts, raw honey, grain sprouts, uncooked coarse rolled oats and whole meal bread.
